I started the computer based information system in the late 1980s by learning how to deploy coax (BNC RG58)(gr series) and ethernet networking cables (twisted pair Cat 3 or 5 and now 6 with 550 MHZ capacity, plenum rj- 45, rj 11 28 Awg phone, voice grade,) shielded and unshielded with pipes, fiber optics (2 - 12 count zip cord multimode), RCA (rcacam), splicers, connectors, adaptors, surge protectors, terminators, testers, switches, racks, wallplates / wall boards / fishing wires, up to my neck in hardware. But it did not end there, next came the installation of interfaces, connection of PC to switches, router, panels, servers; several servers to one monitor (kvm), on to modems for internet access, rj 45 to and from server and terminals (dumb for host, intelligent for hosts), peripherals of all sorts, then from installation to configuration / programming of cisco routers, terminals, and the server itself. I had a chance to install, configure from a central facility in the windows nt environment to have ready PCs for replacement of badly damaged terminals, laptop configuration for remote access via wireless, customer service operation and architecture configuration, access to command line control of the printers and access to terminal through mapping and database integration with the terminal sides application for station operators. Database configuration and programming from ms access to MySQL with phpMyAdmin on Apache server, Alphas and a long line of brands for PCs and Servers. Administrative tools from XP, Vista, and MS Small Business Server, Nt, and the several Office versions and applications. Finally to the world wide web architecture ISO standards on different implementations, configuration, and internet programming. Starting with DOS and UNIX OS command line batch and script programming, server side mail configuration, on to Visual Basic, C, C ++, and then into Java, Java applets, ,Java script, HTML, XML, UML, PHP, PERL, and lastly on AJAX implementation for CR=RM since I have moved to the WEB as the environment of preference. Nevertheless, keeping the Server machines at hand for local networks. In plant operations, the terminology and capacity variants yet in the same context, my next step is to manage a plant environment in that respect, yet with my heart and eyes forward to Internet implementations. i have left a lot to be brief but I hope you have an idea of what this last 20 years has given me a place in the information systems and the business environment and how I can help you communicate effectively your message.
From the business side I can make reference to not only my own but international implementations as you can determine from this site, and the experience I have from international implementation of business rules and the technology that support it.
